The Space

The project centered around a bright, open living area that serves as the heart of the home. With high ceilings and a clean architectural layout, the goal was to enhance the space with natural light while preserving its refined, modern feel. The skylight was positioned to maximize daylight throughout the day, creating a natural focal point without overwhelming the room.

The Challenge

The main challenge was creating a system that could function both as a beautiful everyday skylight and as a fully kosher sukkah opening. This required a precise, unobstructed opening at a true 90° angle, while maintaining a tight, weatherproof seal when closed. Balancing halachic requirements, structural integrity, and clean interior aesthetics demanded careful planning and exact execution.

Planning & Engineering

Every detail was mapped out in advance—from structural support to opening mechanics and drainage. Measurements were taken with precision to ensure a perfect fit within the existing architecture. The system was engineered to integrate seamlessly into the ceiling while supporting the full opening span without compromising strength or performance.

Design & Build

The skylight was custom-fabricated to match the proportions and style of the home. Clean lines, minimal visual interruption, and a flush finish allowed it to blend naturally into the ceiling when closed. At the same time, the air-powered system was built to deliver smooth, reliable operation—opening fully and evenly with ease.

Installation & Delivery

Installation was carried out with a focus on precision and efficiency. The team ensured proper sealing, alignment, and finishing so the system would perform flawlessly from day one. Once completed, the skylight transformed the space—bringing in light, air, and the flexibility to transition into a sukkah when needed.
